Saturday Drop in & Drop off
Saturday Drop In & Drop Off
Children’s Art & Craft clubs with a difference…these sessions are child led, parent free (unless you’d like to stay) and full of fun!
How it Works
Drop in on a Saturday morning and drop off your child(ren)
They choose from our range of drop in crafts which includes age appropriate art and craft kits, items to paint and decorate, fibre arts and more (from £3) and a crochet lesson (£10) with our children’s coordinator, Alison.
You pay as you go for whatever your children do with a budget set by you when you drop off.
One week they may be learning to crochet, one week creating a beautiful multi media art project, and one week weaving or felting - there are so many options plus monthly specials for drop in crafts.
These sessions are suitable for ages 6+ and children will be led to choose projects suitable for their ages, interests and abilities.
We often find that children ages 6-7 are happy crafting for up to 30mins, while older children may take longer. We ask that you stay close so that we can contact you if your children are ready to be collected before you return.
Arts Award Discover
Arts Award Discover
At The Place Stamford we will be covering the discover award over 10 weeks, looking at different types of art, exploring inspirational artists, taking part in a variety of arts projects and completing out arts logs. Eight weeks will be with our Arts Award Teacher Katie completing the work towards the arts award, trying out new art skills, working on a final project and completing an arts award journal. The remaining weeks will be with our Children’s Coordinator Alison and will lay art and craft foundations to enable us to complete out Arts Award work.
The course will take place on 28th March, 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th March, 18th, 25th April and 2nd, 9th and 16th May. If you would like to join but will miss any of the sessions, get in touch and we can work around it to ensure your child meets all the goals.
Arts Award Discover is a nationally recognized, introductory-level Arts Award qualification for children and young people (ages 5 and up), managed by Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England. Participants create a personal "arts log" (portfolio) to evidence their creative experiences, including taking part in arts activities, researching an artist, and sharing their discoveries. It serves as a foundational award, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and confidence, and acts as a springboard to the higher-level Arts Award qualifications.

Perspective for Painters with Karin Christensen
Are you sometimes unsure how to draw and paint in perspective?
Understanding perspective can make a difference to your artwork.
Join me for a day of learning about one and two point perspective.
We will also practice how it applies to: Cityscapes, landscapes, seascapes and adding people in a scene.
Take home all your exercises and a clearer understanding of how to apply them to your art.
This is not a painting day, we will simply draw and understand all these different elements.
Open to everyone, easy to follow instructions.
All materials are included.
£65 including refreshments.
Welcome.
