Perfect for beginners and curious creatives alike, this hands-on session will guide you through the basics of creating vibrant, layered prints using a soft gel printing plate, acrylic paints, plants and flowers. During the workshop, you’ll learn how to roll out colour, build layers, and experiment with marks, patterns and botannics to create unique prints.
Gelli plate printing is wonderfully unpredictable - each pull of the print reveals surprising textures and combinations, making every piece one-of-a-kind. Throughout the series of gelli printing workshops, we’ll explore simple techniques such as creating backgrounds, using stencils and masks, transferring textures from everyday objects, using bottanicals and creating with stamps. By the end of a session, you’ll have a collection of your own prints that can be used for collage, art journaling, cards, or standalone artwork. All materials are provided, and no previous printmaking experience is required—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to experiment. This relaxed and supportive workshop is a great opportunity to try something new, get creative with colour and texture, and enjoy the satisfying process of printmaking.
