Our Science with Izzy sessions are for KS3 and IGCSE and give children the chance to plan, participate in and evaluate science experiments, learning the theory along the way to set them up for a successful science education.
KS3 - We will rotate through the three sciences every two-three weeks, building on fundamental scientific understanding and skills that will feed into the iGCSE courses. Practical work will be incorporated wherever possible to develop student’s experimental skills.
IGCSE
Block 1 (5th, 12th & 19th November): Investigating diffusion and osmosis (biology)
Block 2 (26th Nov, 3rd, 10th December): Separation techniques (chemistry)
Izzy is a qualified and experienced science teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience. She holds a PhD and First-Class Master’s degree in Chemistry and has taught across KS3, GCSE and A Level.
Izzy is passionate about making practical science accessible and inclusive for Home Ed families. KS3 Science These small-group sessions introduce students to the excitement of practical science while building secure understanding and key skills. Each 6-week block covers a balance of Biology, Chemistry and Physics topics, encouraging curiosity, confidence and a love of learning that supports future iGCSE studies.
iGCSE Science Students rotate through Chemistry, Biology and Physics every three weeks, deepening their understanding through experiments, demonstrations and guided discussion. Bookable in 3-week blocks, the sessions help students strengthen their practical knowledge and scientific reasoning; building the skills and confidence needed for exam success. All activities are designed in liaison with CLEAPSS, fully risk assessed and Izzy has full insurance.
