Summer Writing Workshops - Writing the Weird

Parents of creative kids... This one's for you!

This summer we're running three creative writing workshops for young people aged 11-16 and there won’t be a worksheet in sight! Just imagination, games, discussion and inspiring writing prompts that make ideas impossible to switch off. If your child spends their life reading, doodling stories, making up characters, gaming, daydreaming or asking "what if...?", they'll fit right in.

We'll be building believable characters, writing poetry that doesn't have to rhyme, creating strange new worlds, and discovering that English is actually fun.

Led by specialist English teacher Kia Went, who has 20 years' teaching experience, these workshops are designed with neurodivergence at their heart. Relaxed, low-demand and SEND-friendly, they help young people grow in confidence, develop real GCSE English Language skills and, most importantly, discover the joy of writing.
