Flying the Flags
This is an tryptich image from my ‘Harmony of Light’ project, which came out of a Camera Club lock down challenge on ‘Light Painting’. Quick experiments with swinging lights and a pendulum led on to me designing and building a photographically recording harmonograph.
Folding the Jack
In ‘Folding the Jack’ the harmonograph is adjusted to near octave tuning, giving quite a simple folded pattern. The light source used for the image has synchronous colour switching to emulate the Union flag.
The paper used for this print is ‘Fine Art Baryta’ which enhances the vibrancy of the colours. The inks used are professional pigment based, for extremely long life (100+ years) without fading.
